This journey is different, it’s a pilgrimage, not a tour. We will be blessed to spend a week in one spot. Medjugorje will be our home during this time. We won’t be spending each night in a different city and then moving on. No rushing from site to site to get it all in. Our accommodations are carefully selected. We will be staying at the Ambassador Hotel, which is owned and operated by an amazing family! This hotel is more than a hotel, it is a home. The Vasilj’s hospitality will make you feel like a part of the family. And it is there, as we gather to begin our days, that we all become part of the Medjugorje family of pilgrims. Delicious home-cooked meals, breakfast, and dinner are included in the price. Wine with dinners, and juice, water, and coffee also. You will find peace and serenity along with views of Cross Mountain. We will also be in a great location, a short 300 meters walk to St. James Church and short walks to Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill.
Preparation for your pilgrimage:
Our Lady has called you to Medjugorje, now it is time to prepare. Remember to prepare physically and spiritually.
There is some walking on this pilgrimage. Most walking is at a casual pace, so be prepared for walking across vineyards, up Apparition Hill, and Cross Mountain. Plenty of time to rest as we pray and walk. If you can walk a mile a day, you should be fine.
Attend daily Mass and try to find some quiet time at Adoration. If you don’t know how to pray the Rosary, no worries. This is a beautiful prayer and we will be praying this on our pilgrimage. Learn it before or learn it in Medjugorje. Our Lady first requested the visionaries to pray a peace rosary, this is the Apostles Creed, 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Mary’s and 7 Glory Be’s. Start there.
The most important preparation, Open your Heart and your Mind to receive all the gifts and graces Our Lord wants to offer you during this pilgrimage.
Itinerary:
Day 1 – Depart the US, overnight flight to Split/Dubrovnik.
Flights can be arranged on your own, or we can do it for you. All flights need to fly into Split, Croatia.
Day 2 – Arrive, transfer to Medjugorje.
Upon your arrival in Split/Dubrovnik, you will be greeted by us and we will then take you on a beautiful scenic 2+ hour ride by private van/motorcoach to the village of Medjugorje. Once there, you will be introduced to your host family where you will be staying for the next seven nights.
Day 3-9 – Medjugorje
Each morning we will gather for breakfast. We will then have morning prayer before we head off to morning Mass at 10 am at St James Church. It is here where we will gather and share our faith with pilgrims from all over the world.
We will be with you throughout the week along with the assistance of a local guide. During the days, we will have time for Adoration, Apparition Hill where the visionaries first saw Our Lady, Cross Mountain (Krizevac) where in 1933 the villagers built a 28’ high cross on the 1900th anniversary of Jesus’ crucifixion, Risen Christ Statue, and your own quiet time as you listen to your heart.
Each evening we will gather together for dinner, where we will come together to reflect and share. We will also be able to join the villagers and pilgrims to pray the rosary at the church and to be present when the apparitions occur at 5:40 pm and then stay for the Croatian Mass and the Blessing of the Sick or Adoration.
We will have the opportunity to listen to local priests, visit Cenacolo to hear moving testimonies, and hear visionaries speak which all depend upon their availability.
Day 10 – Depart Medjugorje for the USA.
After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, you will leave Medjugorje by private van/motorcoach for the city of our flight home.
